If Joe Staley comes out of retirement, it might be as a wide receiver.
That’s what he looks like in a photo dropped on Friday, that shows the former 49ers left tackle looking slim and jacked, the product of losing 50 pounds since hanging up his cleats last year.
Staley chalked up his weight loss — he’s down to 250 pounds — to a healthy diet and time spent on the Peloton. Staley said during his playing days that it was a job requirement for him to be at about 50 pounds over what he considered his natural weight, and that keeping that weight on could be a struggle. He joins a long line of former NFL offensive lineman who have slimmed down post retirement, the most notable of which being former Browns lineman Joe Thomas.
