Patrick Beverley’s media tour was so successful last week he’s back for another round.
While Beverley’s previous tour through the ESPN talking-head shows consisted primarily of him slandering Chris Paul, Thursday’s installment saw the one-time Warriors rival heaping praise on Stephen Curry.
Beverley gave a take that some Warriors fans might even disagree with. He said that if Curry wins his fourth title this year, he will be right there on the all-time list with LeBron James.
“Man, they right there,” Beverley said on ESPN’s “Get Up.” You have to, [Curry’s] changed the game. LeBron has changed the game of course everyone knows that. He’s changed the game for a 6′ 9″ guy to be able to do the stuff that he does with the ball we’ve never seen before.
“But what Steph Curry has done…guys are shooting 3s and not looking anymore. He has changed the game. He looks good doing it, the face is perfect. Everything, he’s the golden boy, everybody knows that. It just works for him and he’s got the basketball to back it up. It’s right there.”
While a fourth title would tie Curry and LeBron title wise, James currently has four Finals MVPs to Curry’s zero, and four regular season MVPs to Curry’s two. Still, when you take into account how Curry completely changed the game of basketball, there is some merit to Pat Bev’s take.
