After Brandon Crawford, Buster Posey and Joe Panik were each awarded Gold Gloves on Tuesday, the entire Giants defense was recognized on Friday, being named the Wilson Defensive Team of the Year by Major League Baseball.

Posey and Crawford also received additional awards by MLB, each being named the best defensive players at their respective positions in 2016. This is the third season in which MLB has given an award to the league’s best defensive team, and the first time the Giants have been given such an honor.
