A night after smashing a seventh-inning double to put the Giants on the board, and a 10th inning walkoff single to help San Francisco score its largest comeback victory of the season, Jarrett Parker was at it again.
Giants’ pitchers are not strangers to launching tape-measure home runs, and on Sunday afternoon, right-hander Jeff Samardzija thought he had his second round-tripper of the season.
The San Francisco Giants are in the process of giving one third baseman a second chance. Now, the Giants are in a position where they may be giving a different third baseman a third chance.
“First day I talked to him he didn’t feel the symptoms as much as he did the previous ones. I guess what I’m saying is it seems milder to him, so that’s good news. But you don’t know with these concussions. He thought he was over it the last time and then it came back. So it’s going to take some time.”
Jarrett Parker is one of the Giants’ hottest hitters, a clear defensive standout and a player who could help his cause significantly if he continues to play well for the remainder of the regular season.
